Prevention of gum disease

Gum disease is the most common cause of tooth loss in adults. It can be prevented and successfully treated if caught in early stage.

By working closely with you, your dentist can show you ways to prevent the progress of this disease and provide you with treatment that is best suited to your particular need.

Gingiviti s can be prevented through regular oral hygiene that includes:

  •         Oral hygiene instruction


  •         Toothbrushing twice a day



  •          Corsodyl dental gel, Chlorhexidine Digluconate to be used twice a day for one month,      

                have one week break and restart using the gel again. 


  •        Root Planing and Scaling
  •        Smoking cessation
  •           Health and lifestyle counseling
  •           Replacement of old, poorly contoured fillings
  •           ventual antibiotic therapy
